Therapeutic Massage Therapy – It’s Not Your Traditional Massage!

At Precision Chiropractic & Massage, we have several exceptionally trained massage therapists. We specialize in THERAPEUTIC massage therapy.  This is quite different than a massage you receive at a spa or on vacation.

Therapeutic massage is used to help clients overcome specific health issues.  For example, we may use therapeutic massage to help an individual work through a frozen shoulder.  Therapeutic massage requires a very specific approach in which we identify the muscles that contribute to a specific condition and address those muscles through a variety of techniques.

At Precision Chiropractic & Massage, chiropractic and massage therapy services are often combined to expedite progress and maximize improvement.  We complete a very thorough initial exam with every new patient.  During this exam, we identify areas in the spine that have shifted out of placed (known as a structural shift).  Structural shifts are corrected with chiropractic adjustments via a precise hand held instrument.

We have very sophisticated equipment that identifies muscular tension and muscle imbalance.  This equipment is known as Surface Electromyography (SEMG).  When we complete a SEMG scan with a new patient, we clearly measure and identify muscles tension on each side of the spine from top to bottom.  This provides us with objective clinical information.  It allows our therapists to see the exact muscle patterns that contribute to a specific problem.

This process is about analyzing the condition and developing a specific plan of attack to correct it.  Many clients utilize both chiropractic and massage therapy to correct their issues.  Others may only need one therapy to achieve their goals.  After we complete an examination, we recommend the therapies that will be most beneficial in addressing your issue.

Training and skill sets vary greatly amongst massage therapists.  At Precision Chiropractic, we only utilize the most skilled, advanced therapists.  I’m proud to say our co-owner is our lead massage therapist!  She has a background in physical therapy, a bachelor’s degree with a focus in exercise science and over ten years of experience helping clients overcome a variety of health issues.
